Digital release of Oracular Visions – In the Darkness of the Night, which delves into questions concerning uncertainty, guidance, a multiplicity of truths, trust, and most importantly oracular visions.

The book is the fifth issue in the publication series “Studies in Curating Art” focusing on curatorial research and on the connections between curatorial theory and practice, within the frame of the international Master’s program in Curating Art at Stockholm University.

Some of these visions are delivered to us during the live streamed event in the form of a reading by Iris Smeds, a presentation of the design of the book by Tobias Kingstedt, and a film screening and conversation with Tor-Finn Malum Fitje & Thomas Hill.In life, questions appear to be more present than answers. To varying degrees, we accept this asymmetry. At a certain moment – perhaps after the first thousand questions asked during childhood, or just after dinner when the evening settles in, we are no longer impatiently awaiting answers. For a while the questions float around freely, and stop seeking their supposed counterpart. However, every now and then, particularly pressing questions arise, and in clear and demanding voices, they require answers. Irrespective of the inquirer’s age, the time or the place, they do not seem to calm down. In fact, they might be the reason that you stay up all night. Perhaps the desire to look into the future, and the curiosity for the unknown are innate human traits? Because, just like the inquisitive child, the questions just will not stop. What to do at this point? The answer might be to pay a visit to an oracle.
