Welcome to the opening of the exhibitions The Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland Present WORLD EXPO 2023 by Leif Elggren and Carl Michael von Hausswolff, and Oedipus in Search of Colonus by Loukia Alavanou.

Various types of territories and who governs them run like a red thread through Accelerator’s spring exhibitions. Physical, geographic, juridical, mental and spiritual areas are explored, including national borders and the right to live where one wants to, as well as territories beyond the human domains of life and death.

At the opening, as part of the WORLD EXPO 2023, a performance will be presented by Francisco Meirino (Spain, 1975), an experimental musician and artist based in Switzerland. Meirino’s physically intense music explores the tension between programmable material and the potential for its failure in terms of sounds such as transmission failures, magnetic fields and electrostatic noise.

Throughout the opening day visitors are invited to apply for citizenship in the double monarchy. The Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland’s passport office will be open at Accelerator and the two kings will issue passports, except during the performance by Francisco Meirino.
