Curating Art: TOTAL INTERNAL REFLECTION
TOTAL INTERNAL REFLECTION is a convergence of memory and light. With glass sculpture and sound installation as their medium, artists Minna Rombo Zetterlund and Klara Branting Paulsell explore connection, reflection, and awe. This installation is part of Accelerator’s collaboration with the Master’s Programme in Curating Art at Stockholm University. The students create events in connection to themes that Accelerator wishes to highlight in the exhibition programme.
Location: Accelerator’s staircase and lift
Duration: 29 April – 10 May
Opening night: 29 April, 18:00–20:00, with durational light activations at 18:40 and 19:40
Free entry, no registration required
For twelve days, visitors are invited to explore their connection to light through installations in the staircase and lift. The installation converses with Olof Marsja’s ongoing exhibition I din röst bor anden till ett språk. Where his exhibition explores wind as a force that carries language, TOTAL INTERNAL REFLECTION turns to rays of light as a shared connection across generations.
Everyone who has ever lived has stood under the same sky. Have you ever paused to stare in wonder at the rays of light breaking through the clouds? These rays of light defy borders and reach across time, connecting people and offering a momentary space for rest in a constantly moving world. Inspired by fibre optics, the installation continues this journey, guiding light through thin glass strings, creating never-ending reflections that invite visitors to follow them inwards. Through their work, Rombo Zetterlund and Branting Paulsell want to light a path for rest and reflection held in a moment of awe.
About the artists
Minna Rombo Zetterlund (b. 1990, Sweden) is an artist based in Stockholm. Holding a BFA (2015) and MFA (2025) in Glass from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, Minna works primarily with glass and light, sometimes in dialogue with other materials. Their practice is guided by curiosity and a sensitivity to the emotional capacities of material, and—through a process rooted in wonder—they explore how fleeting moments of awe, attention, and presence, might be shared.
Klara Branting Paulsell (b. 1997, USA) is based between Stockholm and Berlin, Germany, and holds a BFA from the Design Academy Eindhoven (NL, 2023). They mostly work with the written language and collective practices and all they really have ever cared about are dialogues and people-watching and learning how to live together in anticapitalism.
Rombo Zetterlund and Branting Paulsell have been collaborating on workshops, performances, and exhibitions since 2018. They see their collective process as an investigation into coaction, where the subject meets and is met constantly. Their work often centers around nature, conversation, and mapping.
