Forskarsalong: The Owl is Not What it Seems

4 Nov, 17:30

Accelerator and the Doctoral Student Council at the Department of Culture and Aesthetics present a conversation on research, art, and new ways of thinking.

Where does Minerva’s owl fly after dusk? Forskarsalongen The Owl is Not What it Seems explores what happens beyond traditional ways of measuring and understanding the world around us. In connection with the exhibition The Owl of Minerva, three PhD researchers from the humanities at Stockholm University share their ongoing research and reflect on the possibilities of knowledge. Through poetry, lived and experiential knowledge, and more-than-human relations, their work questions how we can perceive and understand the world and our surroundings beyond the limitations of enlightened reason.

Participating researchers:
Nike Stolpe Wikström, PhD researcher in the History of Ideas; Frederik-Emil Friis Jakobsen, PhD researcher in the History of Ideas; and Julia Gerdner, PhD researcher in Slavic languages with a focus on literary studies.

Date: 4 November
