Starting from Tino Sehgal’s constructed situation This Progress, the researchers of the Researchers Collaboration Group will be asked to reflect upon the notion of “progress” in relation to their own field of work/study.

During this second meeting artist Signe Johanesson will present her collaborative research project The Beast & the eye of the Cyclone (2015-2017). For this project she worked together with fishermen, marine biologists and an archaeologist to explore notions of death, fat and misogyny in relation to the whale and the history of whaling. During the expanisive project she created a series of films such as Olaus Magnus teori (2015), Hic sunt dracones (2016) and The seal in the labyrinth and the eternal rest (2016). The workshop introduces researchers to Johanesson’s contemporary artist practice, which utilises research and collaboration in exciting methods. As part of the workshop, the researchers will be invited to give shape to their notion of progress collaboratively, through clay.
